Astro Trends: June to Sept 2024

Introducing Astro Trends

Astro Trends is my nuts-and-bolts astrological forecast for Summer 2024, running from June 1st through September.

Astro Trends is a complement to the channeled information I provide in my Vibrational Horoscopes, which you can also find on this site.

Astro Trends is intended to give you the “big picture” for the coming months, information you can use to get the background story on what is happening.  While I adore weekly forecasts, I don’t currently have the bandwidth to provide that information.

Vibrational Horoscopes – Trends from the Guides

I am an astrologer and numerologist, but I was a psychic channel before I studied these modalities. I listen to my guides and record what they have to say for each sign.  I don’t always understand what they are saying, but they like me to give me (and you) the play-by-play version.

That’s why I call them Vibrational Horoscopes - you will find them in a separate blog post, “Vibrational Horoscopes - June to Sept 2024.”

But are there any planetary aspects to back up what they are saying?  I wanted to know as well, and based on some of these bigger transits, I think there is support for what they are saying.

First, there was reference to Sagittarius (ruled by Jupiter) to be careful where they are focusing, so I will look at Jupiter.

Next, there was advice for Pisces and Cancer (both water signs) to start to learn to use their “water senses” and learn how to flow in different types of water.  So we will look at what Neptune is up to.

They also had a warning about overstimulation through too much thought and distractions. Well, Mercury is very active with Uranus this summer (see below), so I’ll take a look at that too. Across many of the signs, there was an indication of the need for rest and slowing down, which can come from overstimulation.

And Capricorn got advice about learning to “live on the mountain” and not to always be “climbing the mountain. So we will see how Pluto is affecting that sign.

Mercury: Making lots of noise

Mercury. Holy Toledo.  Here are the very Mercurial (and Gemini) aspects for the next few months.  Mercury is a fast mover this summer, moving through a sign about every two weeks until it retrogrades in August.

Here are the Mercury-related transits. The dates of these transits may vary depending on your location.  While I am listing when these transits are nearly exact, the influence may resonate with you a few days before and after the dates listed.

Mercury-Related Transits  (Mercury and Gemini highlighted)

·        May 26 – Jupiter enters Gemini

·        June 4th – Mercury enters Gemini

·        May 21 through June 20 – Sun in Gemini

·        May 31 through June 2 -  Mercury in Taurus conjuncts Uranus in Taurus

·        June 29 through July 1 – Mercury in Cancer sextiles Uranus in Taurus

·        July 21 to July 24 – Mercury in Leo squares Uranus in Taurus

Mercury Retrograde Action – July to September

·        Shadow period:  July 17 to August 4th – Mercury in Leo, then Virgo

·        Retrograde (RX):  August 5th to August 28th (Direct)– Mercury in Virgo, then retrograde into Leo

·        Shadow period:  August 29 – September 19th – Mercury in Leo, then Virgo

What does this Mercury stuff mean?

Mercury rules communication, including talking, texting, writing, reading – very Gemini activities. But Mercury also rules Virgo, the home of responsibilities (your job) and serving others (including your pets).  Mercury can increase activity in these areas, to say the least.

But given that Mercury is playing with Uranus – the planet of surprises and stuff that comes out of the blue - the next few months might seem intellectually surprising, stimulating, or even overwhelming.

I will give you an example.  In my corporate career, I had many instances when people came into my office, nonstop, with problems, to-do items, phone calls, emails, and “oh, I forgot to tell you about…”.  I would go home buzzing at night from all the interactions.

But when Uranus gets involved, those communications can get weird and come out of nowhere.  “A lightening bolt just zapped the security system and now the fire alarm won’t shut off.”  Or standing in front of a wall of TVs at a Big Box store when a laser light show comes on 25 TVs simultaneously.  Or those days when my modem says it is connected to the router, but my laptop and TV don’t believe it to be so….

The Vibrational Horoscopes indicated that this energy could feel overwhelming, even for Geminis who are used to multi-tasking.  If you feel like you need to take a break, do so, you might need it.

Potential harsh words? Mars and Jupiter in Gemini

Jupiter moved into Gemini on May 26, 2024.  Jupiter is like Father Christmas, or your favorite uncle, or even a big spotlight.  Jupiter makes things – BIGGER – BOLDER – MORE + MORE + MORE!

Here’s my Jupiter story.  Many years ago, I had a Jupiter transit where I met a new love interest, and then won $1,000 in the lottery, and then signed new clients – all within a few weeks.  I suffered from what Oprah called “a Joy Headache”.  Too much of anything is not necessarily a good thing.

But in general, Jupiter is a good planetary influence.  There have been lots of videos on Jupiter’s entry or “ingress” into Gemini, so feel free to look up your favorite YouTube astrologer. But since Gemini loves to communicate (see the Mercury section above), Jupiter may make all that Mercury energy BIGGER + BOLDER etc.

This goes on delightfully (or overwhelmingly) for a few months until two things happen.  First Jupiter will conjunct Mars, with that energy building, peaking, and declining between August 10th to the 19th.  For those of you paying attention, you will note that this falls in the height of the Mercury retrograde period.

What does this mean?

Mars is the planet who is the fiery, impulsive, warrior kind of guy.  But his energy isn’t long lasting. When he aligns with Jupiter (BIG + BOLD) in Gemini (sign of communication), let’s watch out. Watch your words, reactions, and such – and watch what other people say as well..

I bring this up because in the Vibrational Horoscopes there was a caution for Sagittarians (ruled by Jupiter) to “watch your target.”  What are you focusing on?  What are you hellbent on achieving, attacking, or pulling your archer’s bow against?  Make sure it isn’t an illusion, short lived, or the wrong target.

This transit would say – slow down, watch the big action words, be careful of attacking someone (or them attacking you).  I think the guides were giving us all a warning about a lot of overstimulated thinking (Mercury, Jupiter, Gemini), and thinking before we speak.

Neptune at 29° Pisces (still, until 2026)

An astrologer will tell you that 29° is an “anaretic degree”, the last degree before it changes signs.  This has significance because it is supposed to be an intense energy that builds before it breaks through to a new sign. (Okay, so there is that other thing about malefics ruling the last decans of a sign, but you life-long astrologers can look that up.)

Since I am a Numerologist, I have another take on this phenomenon.  The number 29 reduces to a “Master Number.”  (2+9 = 11).  The Master Number 11 is designed to be a Master Teacher, to give us a lesson that we will remember. You have been learning this lesson for awhile now, and now you are about to fully understand it before it moves on.

Neptune is acting like a metronome, swinging back and forth over 29° of Pisces, until we learn that lesson, depending upon where it falls in your chart. It first entered Pisces back in February 2012 and has been trying to teach you a lesson for 12 years, but still has work to do with you.

Neptune will continue to sit at 29° because it takes about 165 years to orbit the Sun.  That means you will never experience Neptune in Pisces for your lifetime (unless you live to be over 165 years old.)  Here are some 2024 dates to observe.

·        Neptune reaches and moves forward from May 4th to  July 1st, sitting at 29°

·        Neptune turns retrograde (RX) on July 2nd, continuing to sit at 29° until September 4th.

·        Neptune turns direct on December 27 at 29°

Neptune will continue to dance on 29° Pisces throughout 2025 until January 2026 when it enters Aries and completes its journey.

Neptune is patiently waiting to teach us individually and collectively a lesson.  What is your lesson? What has been dissolving in your life for the last 12 years? (If you don’t know what house Neptune falls in, you can get a free chart at Astro.com or similar websites. Neptune looks like a trident  ♆.)

Neptune, like water, is good at dissolving things. Have you ever seen how running water can wear down even a rock?  That’s Neptune. It takes its time, dissolves whatever is in its way, and makes you see things differently.  Neptune can also make things feel like an illusion, make people want to imbibe too much, and in general not face reality. My view is that Neptune wants you to face your reality and dissolve what’s in the way.

For you water signs, how has Neptune impacted you? Is it affecting your intuitive abilities or dreams? The Vibrational Horoscopes were big on developing your Water Abilities, and slow-moving Neptune is probably providing this influence.

Pluto in Aquarius – I mean Capricorn…

Modern astrologers say that Pluto is “transformational.” But I heard one astrologer mention that Pluto likes to dig stuff up, get rid of it, and then transform it.

It’s like envisioning a clean garage or a minimalist home.  You have to clean out the drawers, make decisions, and give away a lot of crap before you can get to your clean and shiny reality.  But don’t be afraid to do it, because it is definitely worth it.  And Pluto will MAKE SURE you do it!

Here’s a few Pluto time periods to watch out for – (RX = Retrograde).

·        May 27 – June 22 (exact on June 3).  Pluto RX in Aquarius trines Jupiter in Gemini

·        August 5 to August 21 – Pluto RX in Aquarius inconjunct Mercury RX in Virgo

·        August – Pluto RX in Aquarius trines Uranus in Taurus

·        September 3rd – Pluto retrogrades back into Capricorn

·        September – Pluto RX in Capricorn trines Uranus in Taurus

What does this mean?

The Pluto retrograde from Aquarius to Capricorn is significant in a few ways.  In Aquarius, Pluto focuses on the future, and how we need to break apart things that don’t work for our future journey.  Aquarius is all about AI, digital currency, and the information age – how will we envision our future and come together in new ways?

Pluto in Capricorn looks at our past.  What are the structures that no longer work?  Pluto entered Capricorn in January 2008, just in time to blow up the housing market.  Pluto has also been digging up and transforming our institutions – government, banking, academia – just to name a few. Apparently, we are not entirely done yet, since Pluto wants to revisit Capricorn just…one…more…time.

Pluto RX in Aquarius trines Jupiter in Gemini.  Remember all that Mercury, Gemini, and Big communication stuff you just read about?  Pluto RX seeks the truth, so those communications might actually uncover some old truths (or tall tales) and reveal some stuff you didn’t know about. Pluto makes sure we revisit things that have not been addressed or talked about, not to harm you, but to clean out the closets so you can move on.

For instance, you might find some old documents you forgot about.  You might return to writing a blog (that’s me!), or pursuing a research project.  You might have a long-awaited conversation that might be uncomfortable, but will clear the air.  You always have free will, but if something comes up, it’s time to address it.

Pluto RX in Aquarius inconjunct Mercury RX in Virgo.   An inconjunct is something that is 150° away from you.  It’s just outside of your peripheral vision.  You may or may not see that it is there, and when you find it, it is annoying.  It’s like thinking you paid your intenet bill, only to get a notice that they never received payment. You need to dig up the truth, provide a receipt, and prove that it is resolved. It’s being in a negotiation where you were sure everyone agreed on your collective future, but you leave the room to discover that no one really understood what they need to do.  Go back to the drawing board, sort it out, address the complications, and move on.

Pluto RX in Capricorn trines Uranus in Taurus.  Truths to uncover and surprising results or complications.  To me, this feels like a big wildcard, with both power planets in earth signs.

The best example I can give is a personal one.  Several years ago, I was fixing up an old house to sell. I discovered, to my dismay, that an underground sewer pipe was crushed, and needed extensive and expensive repairs.  That’s Pluto RX – deep, dark, underground, and needs to get fixed to be transformed.  You can’t sell the house without plumbing that works.

The Uranus part is that this repair was a COMPLETE surprise. No one had any idea this problem existed - a very practical, earthy issue that came out of nowhere. The situation was incredibly infuriating, but the reality of the situation had to be looked square in the eye.  I know it is unexpected, and feels like a roadblock, but I just had to fix the problem and move on.

But a trine is “easier”. You may encounter a difficult problem, but there is some ease to the solution. Maybe it is just a small roadblock that comes your way, or the right people are available to help you handle it.  I wouldn’t sweat it, but just know that it is possible.

In conclusion,

I hope these bigger aspects give you an idea of how to handle your summer and interpret your Vibrational Horoscopes.  I like to blend practicality, art, and science – and bring value to you at the same time.
